Sentences is an emotional hardcore band from Wichita, KS. Founded in the summer of 2025 by multi-instrumentalist Joe Simpson and joined by percussionist Aaron Towner, their first performance was on October 18, 2025. Joe and Aaron were joined by bassist John Patton and vocalist Malorie Dewey initially. Later performances were performed as a trio, with Isaac Waterman on bass and Joe on vocals

Heavily influenced by King Crimson, Minor Threat, and Poison the Well, Sentences seeks to capture the urgency, chaos, heaviness and grandeur that can only come from a sound rooted in punk culture and values. Sentences is aspirational and absurd in equal measure, pushing personal creative and performance boundaries at every opportunity.

Sentences released their first self-titled EP on April 24, 2026. All songs were written, recorded, mixed, and mastered in Joe's home studio. The EP can be found on Bandcamp and major streaming platforms.
